Trekking 3-4 days “The Must-See Tour” from Karakol valley to Altyn Arashan valley with hot springs

Trekking Karakol Gorge — Ala-Kul Lake — Altyn-Arashan

Day 1  
Hire a taxi to bring you to Karakol Leskhoz (Karakol National Park) for 400 SOM per car.  The cost to enter the park is 250 SOM per person and 150 SOM per tent.  The hike to Sirota EcoTrek’s base camp it will take 5-6 hours (22km) (2700m).  You will be walking alongside the river for ~3 hours (11km) and then cross a bridge with a cable and trek up the valley to the basecamp.  Overnight in the tent (2700m).

Day 2   
Leaving your campsite you will summit Alakul Lake (3600m) in ~2-3 hours (4km).  Enjoy a short hike around the lake area and beware at night the temperatures fall below 0 C.  Overnight in the tent (3500m).

Day 3   
Leaving your campsite you will summit Alakul pass (3860m) ~2 hours. Then you will descend to Keldiki gorge where you will find the Altyn Arashan Yurt camp and Guest House ~4-5 hours (15km).  Be aware that the Alakul pass is very steep with many loose rocks and can be dangerous.  At Altyn Arashan Yurts/Accommodations and food can be provided (2500m). 

Day 4   
Leaving Altyn –Arashan gorge to Aksu Village the hike is ~3-4 hours (16km).  The trail is very forward following the uneven road that runs along the river.  Once you’re in Aksu take Marshrutka # 350 for 40 SOM per person or Taxi for 350 SOM per car to Karakol.
